This week saw a little progress on the whole cloth quilt.
I may just get it finished.
I finished a sweater for Emil, a new character due to arrive sometime this month (or next). Here's Billy, modeling for me.
Not much crafting happened this week, however. We're going to have a busy couple of weeks, so I was trying to get the stories for The Doll's Storybook finished through the middle of September. This week's story was The Spelling Test. In it, Jolena asks Mariah for help learning her the spelling words for school.
Saturday was Rocky's birthday. He turned 15. We took some doggy birthday cake to the park to share with his friends. Rocky paused to give thanks for the special treat before chomping it down.
When we got home, the dogs each got a new toy, which they played with. Rocky got a present on Dusty's birthday, too. We always give them both something when one of them has a birthday.
One of their favorite games is to trade back and forth, pretending they are stealing each other's toy and trying to keep both. It's always good fun, and no one gets left out. They are good sports when they lose. Some humans could learn from them.
Our walk on Saturday was shorter than usual: 1.6 miles, so just to the dog park and back. However, after yesterday's hike, we're back on track to walk 2 miles a day, with .4 to make up sometime. Here's what it looks like on the Walk for a Dog app.
Another team is ahead of us now, but that's good. That means they are walking for Best Friends, which means more money for the organization. The competition is more fun when you know you're spurring another team on to make money for the chosen charity. (They only put one dog on the graph, but Rocky has walked just as much.)
In other news, Veronika had planned to take a cruise to the Bahamas as part of a knit-along on Ravelry. That was what the new bathing suit and knitted dress were for. She was packing for the trip a few days ago when she got the news the cruise was canceled because of Hurricane Dorian. She was disappointed, but she didn't cry. She doesn't want to get silver eye, which can happen when these dolls' eyes get wet. (The cruise company is trying to rebook passengers.)
I don't think I've shown you Veronika's new T-shirt, with the image from The Doll's Storybook on it. You can see it in the photo above. The image on Charlotte's new T-shirt was chosen because she plays the violin. If you're wondering about the pendant Charlotte almost always wears, it's the Eiffel Tower. The doll name was Anna in Paris.
Mariah's T-shirt was the one I ruined when I was first starting with these. I have to have a new sheet of transfers printed. It will have one for Mariah and one for Emil. There will be room for four more, so I'm going to do some Disney characters for the grandkids: two each of Pooh and Mickey.
Last night we went to Good Life Brewing for a get together of the Bend meet-up group.
It's nice that people can bring their dogs, and kids can run around.
This week I have to get the trailer cleaned and ready for our camping trip next weekend.

What's my tip of the week: Colder air sinks. If you have a two-story house, you can cool the house at night (if it's cooler outside) by opening some windows upstairs and leaving a window or two downstairs partly open. A fan can help move the air if there's no breeze.
